The Home Hardware stores in North Stormont and North Glengarry pride themselves on supplying quality home improvement and construction materials—not to mention wholesome customer service. The ChallengeLockdown meant closing the stores to in-person shopping. And that effectively cut off Home Hardware’s primary means for interacting with customers. The PivotMark turned to video and social media to market new products and also relied on historical practices to adjust to the new realities of retail. The ResultHome Hardware reinforced community ties, internal communication, and team spirit. Our Pivot Points series features conversations with local business owners that looks at the struggles they’ve faced, the changes they’ve made, and the successes they’ve had as a result. Join host Doreen Ashton Wagner, founder entrepreneurship researcher and founder of Business Sisters, to learn about their pivots—and how you might want to apply them to your own business.
