"The idea of Relove really took shape while I was on maternity leave in 2022," says Murphy. "That year, I had seven weddings to attend—four of which I was a bridesmaid. Between dresses, alterations, and the pressure of finding something last minute online, I realized there had to be a better, more accessible solution. Relove was created to take the stress away while offering beautiful, high-quality options without the high price tag."

From Home-Based to High Street

What started as a specialized service quickly gained momentum. As word spread, the demand for a physical space where clients could touch the fabrics and find the perfect fit became undeniable.

"The demand outgrew my original setup faster than I expected," Murphy explains. "Opening a storefront allows Relove to evolve into more than just a rental service; it becomes an experience. This expansion allows me to serve more than one guest at a time and offer better styling support, fittings, and in-person consultations."

Choosing Downtown Cornwall was a deliberate move for Murphy, who has long-standing ties to the local business community through her work in the beauty industry.

"This community has supported me from the very beginning, whether through makeup services, referrals, or simply as returning customers," Murphy shares. "Being able to invest back into the local community feels like my business has come full circle."
