Elections to the board
The Cornwall & Area Chamber of Commerce holds elections for its Board of Directors in March of each year.
The Cornwall Chamber of Commerce holds elections for the Board of Directors during its Annual General Meeting, held in March of each year. All members in good standing are advised and are encouraged to seek office or, to nominate a worthy individual. Directors normally sit for a two- year term before seeking re-election or, stepping down from the Board.
The President and Executive Committee are elected by the incoming Board of Directors during its first official meeting, immediately following the election. Executive positions are filled by nominations from the Board during that meeting and are carried out by secret ballot.
The names of potential Directors have been selected by the nomination committee and circulated to our members. Self -nominations will be accepted up to 4:30 pm Tuesday, March 14, 2017.
The official ballot, with the candidates’ names in alphabetical order, indicating each candidate’s business association and a brief ‘bio’ will be emailed on Wednesday, March 15, 2017. The new Board of Directors will be elected and announced Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the Annual General Meeting.
