Annual Chamber Golf Tournament

It’s one of the premier networking events of the year. The Chamber’s annual Golf Day kicks off the summer season as more than 200 golfers, duffers and hackers enjoy a relaxing day on the links with their professional peers.

It has also gained an enviable reputation as a top notch event. A group of out-of-town business professionals, who take part in similar events all across Eastern Ontario have judged the Chamber event as ‘one of the best!’

Business leaders also know that golf can be an important tool in doing business. A recent COMPAS poll of Canadian CEO’s revealed that, for every dollar spent on golf, their firms generated over $1500 in business revenue. Not bad for a day on the links.

Held on the first Wednesday in June at the 36 hole Summerheights Golf Links, the day features a cordial round of golf with the requisite bragging rights opportunities at many of the holes. The outing is followed by a reception, sumptuous dinner and the chance to win some outstanding prizes.

Business professionals are quick to point out the networking value of the Chamber golf day. The friendly and casual atmosphere, coupled with the new acquaintances struck during the event are seen as important value added components. They also note the quality of the reception and dinner.
